D-day: A Second World War Soldier, 1944
Bryan Perrett
It’s 1944 when Lieutenant Andy Pope takes part in the D-Day landings, crossing the English Channel to the beaches of Normandy. Ordered to cut off the Germans’ line of retreat, Andy’s company comes under sustained attack until, as the only unwounded officer left, Andy finds himself in command and fighting for survival…

I thought it was an historically accurate book about D-Day. It was a bit boring in some places.

A lieutenant in the army, he was summoned to D- day because he was a very well trained soldier and made lots of friends, although lots of them were cut down by the German machine guns as they advanced into battle. But, as nearly all of the men in the army, he got used to it and carefully made new friends as lots of them were going by the minute. But he made peace with everyone and he was awarded the military medal for his good service in battle whilst fighting the horrible German army. Boom!
