Read the HILARIOUS books that inspired the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON films!
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is a smallish Viking with a longish name. Hiccup’s father is chief of the Hairy Hooligan tribe which means Hiccup is the Hope and the Heir to the Hairy Hooligan throne – but most of the time Hiccup feels like a very ordinary boy, finding it hard to be a Hero.
In the first How to Train Your Dragon book Hiccup must lead ten novices in their initiation into the Hairy Hooligan Tribe. They have to train their dragons or be BANISHED from the tribe FOR EVER!
But what if Hiccup’s dragon resembles an ickle brown bunny with wings? And has NO TEETH? The Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus is stirring and wants to devour every Viking on the Isle of Berk . . .
Can Hiccup save the tribe – and become a Hero?

I've listened to all the audio books. They are much better than the films.

It was really interesting to me. I kind of like Hiccup and Toothless but not the bullies. I do not like them. It was really funny when they said this “I don’t have any fish. And you can’t eat the cat, I like him!”
Fairy Birthday-cake Spaceship 01.09.2026
I like the audio book best

I liked toothless the dragon because he’s funny and he has no teeth
General Blossom Humdinger 08.08.2026
hiccup is brave
Commander Dragon Possum 29.07.2026
I liked Fish Legs because he was going crazy, and he was the one who disturbed the wild dragon cliff and all the dragons flew after the boys. This was an exciting moment and it makes the reader feel like the boys and Gobber the Blech isn't going to make it.
Corporal Mandrake Godzilla 28.07.2026
I would recommend it to somebody else. I really liked it when toothless was whining about losing teeth!
Superintendent Binky Palm-tree 27.07.2026
I like the fact that Cressida Cowell has chosen the time era from the Vikings. Hiccup is a small, lanky kids who lots of people ( like Snoutlout) don’t think much of. But Cressida has made sure he is a hero.
