Meggie loves books. So does her father, Mo, a bookbinder, although he’s never read aloud to her since her mother mysteriously disappeared. The next day, Mo starts packing but won’t tell Meggie why. Years ago, he accidentally released a merciless villain from a book called Inkheart.

This is a very adventurous, fast-paced and thrilling book! This book is about the adventures of a girl and her father Mo. It all starts when a strange man visits their house one night, bringing bad news: someone is hunting them down, so they have to leave their home. They go to Meggie's aunt Elinor, where Mo will hide something very important... I can't tell you how highly I would recommend this book!

I absolutely loved reading this adventurous book. It's about a girl called Meggie and her father Mo, who never reads to Meggie. One evening a strange figure enters and talks to Mo. The next morning Meggie and Mo must leave their home because of something the strange figure said. Mo tells Meggie that they are going to visit her auntie Eleanor, but instead, something way more important is happening. Meggie doesn't know that secretly Mo took a very special book with him, to hide it with Eleanor. And so the adventure begins... I would really recommend this book, it's one of my favourites!

I like how there were small extracts from other stories at the start of a chapter. I also liked how they all had code names like dust fingers and Capricorn.

Really good. My favourite characters were Gwin a animal that doesn’t exist and Meggie the main character who is a girl and is 12 years old. I recommend the book. Full of surprises.

I liked this book because there is a man who reads words and they come into life. It is magical. I liked Meggie. I would recommend this book to everyone.

I borrowed Inkheart from the Morningside Library in the day or two just before the lockdown began. As soon as I started reading it, I was immediately drawn in. I felt a strong connection with the main character, Meggie, because of our shared love of books! I was surprised at every turn of the plot.
