The Tiger in the Well
Philip Pullman
Sued for divorce when she’s never been married, by a man she’s never heard of, Sally Lockhart’s life is completely uprooted. There seems nothing she can do to prevent the loss of her money, her home, her business, and her two-year-old daughter, Harriet.
Reviews

I really enjoyed Sally hiding round the city and working as a maid.

I really enjoyed this book, my favourite character is Sally Lockhart because she doesn't let anything stop her. I enjoyed all of it especially when Sally's friends Webster Garland and Jim Taylor returned and came to her rescue. I would recommend this book to anyone 9+ who enjoys mystery and suspense.

Before reading this book, I would recommend reading the two in the series before it. It will make it easier to understand :) With her time taken up by her wonderful baby daughter, Harriet, Sally does not have much time to dwell on the death of Frederick Garland, the small child's late father. All is sound and content in her world. That's when the letter arrives. Suddenly, everything Sally knows for certain is wrenched away from her and 'content' is a distant memory. She is about to be thrown into a world of deceit, danger and revenge. She is about to be utterly alone...
