Agatha Parrot is the most exciting and hilarious comedy series since Mr Gum! But don’t take our word for it . . . take hers!

Hiya! This book is about Odd Street School where I go along with mad Ivy who always jumps down stairs four at a time WAHOO! And Martha who is big and jolly and can sort out boys. The oddest teacher we’ve got is Miss Barking who wears goggles and gloves to use a pencil sharpener.

The story is about when she tried to execute Martha with a floppy cardboard axe, but instead Martha’s head floated off and exploded ha ha brilliant! Don’t worry. Martha ends up eating an ice cream… but if you want to know how, then you’ll have to read the insides, won’t you? WOW how exciting – da-da-darrrrrrh!

As well as stories you’ll get the full gory guide to school life, such as Miss Barking’s daft plan to hold a sports day without any winners, how to make the most of just having one line in the school play, the secret teacher beauty competition and how to cure a highly infectious outbreak of invisible spots. Hope you like it, and thanks for reading this BLURB!

Written by the hottest new prospect in children’s books, Kjartan Poskitt, and illustrated by the artistic genius behind Andy Stanton’s Mr Gum, David Tazzyman, Agatha Parrot is more brilliant than you could possibly imagine. Seriously – Try to imagine it. Nope, not even close. Anyway, it’s the funnest of funny children’s books.

I like Agatha because she’s very very funny. I would recommend this book to other people because it’s very funny such as when she replaces real Martha with a fake Martha.(Fake Martha’s tummy was a duvet , fake Martha’s head was a balloon with a face on it and fake Martha’s legs were paper mache’.Fake Martha had clothes on otherwise she would look very unconvincing.) There’s a really good part at the end of the book which is probably the best part of the book.

I think this book is really funny because of the Octopus paste and when Martha's head exploded and when Miss Whizzit has ice-cream on her chin.

Agatha Parrot is a brilliant character with a bright and witty voice. She narrates her own story (which is why the book is described as 'typed out neatly by Kjartan Poskitt' - Agatha is the author and Poskitt has just recorded her story for her). As a first-person story, Agatha introduces us to her friends before the story properly begins, and she is able to lead the reader through in quite an explicit way, which is good for newly independent readers as well as fitting with her quirky style.

I found this book did not have much action in it so I was not as interested in it.

It is a funny book about a girl and her class who, due to the full attendance of her class, get to visit the mummies at the museum. But when Martha went off sick, they create a plan to stop their teacher knowing.

It is about a girl named Agatha and she has a friend called Martha. Martha’s the funniest one! They do fun things together. And when they were having supper together Martha’s head exploded! My favourite character is Martha because she’s the funniest! I think I would recommend it.
