This book is about Riley, an orphan from the Victorian time who gets hurdled into a time machine by accident and ends up in the present time. He meets a girl called Chevie and together they must try to get rid of the boy's master, Albert Garrick. They travel back and forth through time to escape from Garrick's clutches, who is actually an evil man. It's a very adventurous story, exciting and a bit scary at times (this book is not suitable for younger children). I liked it because it was a bit different from other children's books and would recommend it.
