The book called The Memory Cage a book that i read myself and at school, the author Ruth Eastham really impressed me with the use of the language and the powerful words when she is mentioning a mystery. I think that the book is one of the best reads in the world because of how the author wants to throw impression. This book for me is perfect but I think that the author showed too much of rudeness to the reader to describe Alex's brother Leonard, another thing the author could have done is expand the description about Alex's Gran dad William and say like how did Gran dad get the illness of forgetting everything he did but sometimes he remembered. The character i liked best in the book is Alex because in his summer holidays he helped gran dad all the time when he just a 12 year old boy. I think that Alex is my favorite character because he really showed responsibility to try and find importation about Gran dad's past. Alex never even gives up to find about Gran dad's past when even all the family thought that Gran dad should have have gone to the Sunflower Care Home. Nearly at the end of the book he even saved his little sister Sophie when Gran dad thought that he was at the battle at Dunkirk and Sophie fell off the boat and could not swim Alex came and save her while remembering that he sadly let go of his little brother's hand Nicu and then he died. Then in the story everyone thought that Gran dad made his brother Tommie die, he did, but he was trying to save him from a gun shot at the battle of Dunkirk but then accidentally pushed him in a sharp piece of metal. Then in the story Grandma, Gran dad's wife died in a fire set by Peter Webb and Gran dad never forgot about that and was always angry with Peter Webb because he even thought that Gran dad made Tommie, his brother die in purpose. I think that every person that reads this book will love it.

I enjoyed this book but I think it was a bit too sad. My favourite character was Sophie becasue she was funny and always running away. I dont think I would reccomend it.
