It made me think about how it would feel to experience war. How scary and sad it would be. My favourite character was Sophie. It interested me because of the amount of missiles and the fear it created in the book. There was a lot to learn from it. I would definitely recommend this to others.

During WW2 we usually hear about the bombing attacks on London, but not much on what happens in the other countries near Britain during the war. Sophie's secret war takes place in France and vividly describes the German invasion of Northern France.

I really enjoyed this book because it was fiction and fact at the same time. I like that the story was told through her words in a diary. I also liked the idea that she was taking part in a spy group with some other people. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys learning about history and the past.
