This is a wonderful, adventurous book I would recommend to children ages 8-12. Anyway it starts off when Ava (a 9 year old girl who changes this family's lives) complains to her dad why she isn't allowed to go with him in the magic mirror. The magic mirror is a mirror this mirror kinda brings you back into time if you wear a certain outfit. So if you wear a Victorian outfit it brings you to Victorian times. Anyway while her dad goes to Victorian times after a short while Ava follows. Wearing an amazing ballet tutu. She meets this soot sweeper who goes into fireplaces and cleans soot and finds out shes a girl disguised as a boy. This girl was an AMAZING ballet dancer, she took after her mother, her mother died from ballet. Anyway their dad was still recovering from their mother's death and left his children to their uncle's house. Anyway their uncle had SOLD them to be soot sweepers he didn't want kids bringing them down. Ava gets Florrie a audition to Madame Varty's dance ballet school. Florrie gets a place and they have to look for her father. In the end they find their father and Florrie and their brother Tom live happily ever after.

its really good ava goes through mirrors and is able o travel to different places in this book she gets teleported to Victorian times, and gets in trouble with a famous ballerina Madame Varity.my favourite parts when they tried on different types of Victorian clothes. I would recommend this book because its really good for people who like Gwyneth Rees and adventure.
