Early Readers are stepping stones from picture books to reading books. A blue Early Reader is perfect for sharing and reading together. A red Early Reader is the next step on your reading journey.

There are lots of things Algy doesn’t like – top of the list is his own name. Algernon is just weird. Pugh sounds a bit like – well, never mind.

Other things on his list include: Girls, the Dark, and Having Adventures. So imagine Algy’s surprise when he finds a jungle at the bottom of the garden of his new house! And imagine his irritation when his annoying next door neighbour, Cherry – yes, a GIRL – wants to come and explore it with him. She’ll only giggle and whisper if he doesn’t go with her. But will they ever make it home again?

I like it when he met cherry and it was funny when she said how long her name was, I also like it when they found out the shed was magical and they went on their adventure.

This is a fiction book. My favorite character was Cherry because she was adventurous and brave. I found this story funny because Algy had a funny list of things he didnt like such as girls because they whisper too much and being kissed by aunty sue. In the story they Algy explored in his shed and there was a jungle.

I enjoyed it. Algy has a jungle in his shed. It was funny when he thought Cherry's glasses were on a log but it was a crocodile.

I did like it but wasn’t my favourite. Favourite part was when Algy had to fight a crocodile/alligator.

I really liked this book because it was funny. I liked Algy the best. I liked the way it was set in the jungle which was set next to their garden shed.
