A heart-warming animal story from the master storyteller, Dick King-Smith.

Flora was born on the first day of term in the new school year, which might be why she’s a very special mouse indeed – a mouse who has taught herself to read!

Flora lives in a classroom, and is determined to learn all sorts of things that no mouse has ever learned before. Her family is horrified at first, but then Flora’s reading saves their lives …

The mouse was cute with a pink nose. It is a sad story at first but has a happy ending.

In this book you don't know what's going to happen and it's very good and I really recommend it.

I thought this book was amazing because it had a good moral. It interested me because Flora the mouse wanted to learn about schoolwork. I would recommend it to someone as it was a stunning story by Dick King Smith.

Dick King Smith writes brilliant books and novels. I would reccomend this one The schoolmouse. A bit of laughter and a few tears are inside this book. Flora is a schoolmouse none of her other nineteen brothers or sisters or parents have any interest in education or learning but Flora does she goes up class by class and turns into one very good schoolmouse!
