Definitely 5 stars. This was a really sad but lovely book. It really made me feel lots of emotions and I am thankful that we live in peace.

This book is actually quite sad and I wouldn’t recommend it to younger readers. Morpurgo shows us into the kind of a young soldier in World War Two and makes us feel his worries and share his qualms.

Private peaceful is a good book because it make me picture the setting in my head and it given me a thought of the world war to was like. The person I liked best was tommo because even when Charie his big brother left because he was injured he still was okay. I would recommend it to children aged 9-11 because children younger could have nightmares about it.

What I liked about this book is that a boy called Tommo who lives with his mother and his 2 brothers. His father died a very long time ago and his brother Big Joe had nearly died when he was a baby because of brain damage.

Charlie is my favourite character because he had so much potential and didn't care for himself, he cared for others such as Tommo, Molly and Big Joe! I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys fiction!

It was amazing and was non-fiction because it was all about World War 1. My favourite characters were Charlie and Tommo. It was interesting because they joined the world war 1 and Charlie was the bravest brother ever. To prove this, he was against Sergeant Horrible Hanley the nasty captain and finally there was a sad, and happy ending because Charlie (the good guy), and Sergeant Hanley (the nasty guy) died.

I loved reading this book as it is based on a true story about the War and it tells you the how to war was and gives really good description about the war and everything . Very good and amazing too read . I would recommend this book to someone else as it is based on the war which was true .
