One night a boy is woken by a terrible sound. A storm is breaking, lightning flashing across the sky. In the morning Dad is gone and Mum doesn’t seem to know when he’ll be back. The next day Mum asks her son to take a cake to his sick grandma. ""Don’t go into the forest,"" she warns. ""Go the long way round."" But, for the first time, the boy chooses to take the path into the forest, where he meets a variety of fairy tale characters.

In really like it because it has all of the fairytale stories like goldilocks, jack and the beanstalk and red riding hood. My favourite characters are goldilocks and jack and the beanstalk and the little boy because they all played a big part in the story and all of their lines I thought were very creative to read. I love the book title.

I really liked the book. My favourite character was Grandma. It interested me with the emotions being reflected. I would recommend it to everyone- its fun to read with family.

I like the pictures because they have hidden figures in it. I like the story because it ends with a happy ending and nothing bad happened. I would recommend this book because it is fun to read and look at.
