Introducing Dixie O’Day and also, of course, his friend Percy! This dashing duo are always getting into adventures – here they enter the All-Day Car Race little knowing what is ahead of them! Dixie and Percy run into all sorts of peril, as does their arch enemy, Lou Ella. But who will win, and will Lou Ella get her comeuppance?

It was tough at first but when the friendly family helps Dixie and Percy, they are back in the game.I panicked when Lou Ella was behind them and passed them but she went on the railway tracks which took her away from the finish. I enjoyed the book.

I liked when the fastest car got stuck in the tram lines and then Dixie O’Day got stuck in the middle of the level crossing and a train was coming down the line.

This was a good book and i enjoyed reading it . This probably my favorite Shirley Hughes book. My favorite character was Percy. I would recommend it to my friends.

This book that I read was amazing!The character that in my opinion was very helpful is Percy because he is always there for his friend.A part that was interesting was that it showed that if your lost in your track you keep trying and at a time you will eventually achieve your goal! I hope to find more adventures of Dixie O Day!

I liked Dixie O'Day because he never got a new car and Louella their neighbour always got a new car every Christmas and Dixie's friend Percy helped them win a race and be in the newspaper.

I liked Percy best. I liked the bit when Lou Ella got stuck in the tracks and didn't win. My favourite part was when Dixie and Percy won. I would recommend this book to someone else.

It was a good and exciting book to read. I really enjoyed it and want to now read the rest of the collection to see what Dixie gets up to.

It is a fictional book that has a good amount of pages it is the first book that shirley and clara made (shirey is Clara's mother it is s cool!) I would recommend this book to people who are into races it really is interesting I am going onto my fourth book ! kind regards strawberry102

I love this book When the All Day Race is announced, Dixie knows he must win,and with Percy at his side, he sets off! But soon his car gets them into trouble and their pink obsessed arch enemy Lou Ella speeds past in her brand new car. Who will win the race? It’s a mystery!
