James and the Giant Peach is a fiction book about a boy called James who goes into a peach and sets off on an adventure. My favourite part of this book is when Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker get squashed by the peach. I recommend this book for avid readers aged 6+.

Nice book with James meeting some other unusual creatures. When Roald Dahl was first drafting the story he was going to write about a giant cherry floating down a river! The names suits the characters like aunt Sponge and aunt Spiker.

I loved this book because James' aunts were always ordering him about and when the peach grew, they only used it at their advantage. That is when James run away in the peach the another city, using all his surroundings through the rough journey and that is why he wrote the book.
