Reviews

This book makes you want to read on.It is a little sad because Phylly's mother and little sister Eileen die. When the potato famine hits her family Phylly is forced to get a job.One day she finds her home burnt and family gone. But in the end all ends well because she is reunited with her family(except her dead mum and sister and her brother Pat who stays behind to fight for Ireland)and they and her boyfriend Edward leave for a new life.

This book was amazing.I didn't want it to end.Phylly goes through a lot.Her family was effected by the potato famine and one day she has to get a job to help her starving family survive. One day she returns home to find her house burnt to nothing and her family gone. But in the end it ends well. She is reunited with most of her family(her mother and her little sister Eileen die and her older brother Pat stays behind to fight for Ireland)and her love Edward and they board a ship to America.Anyone who loves a good book based on history must read it.
