I like this book because it’s really creative and uniquely written. Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy are an amazing group. Then they meet Sooty Lenoir as a tree has fallen on her the girls roof back in Kirrin. Sooty (along with Quentin) were abducted by a smuggler. Also, Block (Sooty’s servant) worked for the smuggler and spied on Sooty, Marybelle and their family.

It is a bit of a strange book but I did like it because of the secret passages. I did like the mysterious characters; 'Block' and 'Mr. Barling' because 'Block' pretended he was deaf and he actually wasn't. I liked 'Mr. Barling' because he was a bit mad a funny. I would recommend this book to a friend.
