Kidnap in the Caribbean: Book 2
Lauren St John
Laura cannot contain her excitement when she wins a trip to the Caribbean for herself and her uncle, Calvin Redfern, especially when her best friend, Tariq, and her three-legged husky, Skye, accidentally find themselves on board too. But when they dock at Antigua, they discover that Calvin Redfern has vanished, and Laura and Tariq are about to be kidnapped by the fearsome Straight A gang. Dramatic escapes, an erupting volcano and a race against time to stop the deadly undercover ‘Marine Concern’ make Laura’s second adventure every bit as exciting as the first.

I loved this book because as the mystery unravelled, everything started to become clear. You couldn’t just open the book on a random page and suddenly understand what was happening. You would have to start reading the book from the beginning to understand properly. I think my favourite character was Laura Marlin because even after all that had happened, she was resilient to find her Uncle Calvin. One of the benefits I received from this book was that actually I had learnt a lot of new words like unorthodox, fervently, bespectacled and goateed. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery books.

I found this book so amazing, it was a wonderful adventure, but it was also quite scary. I found Jimmy quite annoying at the start, but then I started to like him.

Just like the first book, this sequel makes you feel as if you’re watching the whole thing for real!
