Everyone knows that orphanages are horrible places. But Earwig has a surprising amount of power over everyone else at St Morwald’s Home for Children, and loves it there. So the last thing she wants is to be sent to live with the very strange Bella Yaga… Earwig was left at St Morwald's as a baby. Unlike the other children, she loves it there, mostly because she has the run of the place and seems to be able to persuade people to do as she wants. Then one day Earwig is chosen to live with a very strange couple: Bella Yaga, her new 'mother', is actually a horrible witch. Earwig will need all her ingenuity (and some help from a talking cat) to survive…

I love the book it was a nice fiction story I have not finished it but it is going well my favourite people are the Mandrake and is Earwig.

I really liked it, because it was exited and all was not what it seems. My favourite character was Earwig, as she was silly. adventures and exiting. I would recomend it to anyone who likes to read about demons and wiches.

Really funny, i really liked the Mandrake and that he's named after a mythical plant. I like that Earwig can always get away with what she wants.

My favourite character was Earwig because she is very tempting and there for she can make people do what she says! I would recommend this book to people who like a spine tingling tale!!!!

I would definitely definitely recommend this for other people to read. It it quite scary when the witch Baba Yaga threatens Earwig with giving her worms and slaps her in the face.
