Magnus Fin and the Ocean Quest
Janis Mackay
There has always been something unusual about Magnus Fin, a school misfit. On his eleventh birthday Magnus throws a message in a bottle out to sea, wishing for a best friend and to be more brave — and he gets a lot more than he bargained for. Magnus discovers that he is half selkie — part seal, part human — and his selkie family urgently need his help.
Can Magnus save his new-found family from the evil force threatening all the ocean’s creatures? And will he find the friend he has always dreamed of?

Reviews

I think this is a good book though I rated it 4 star because it is harsh and sad.It is harsh on Tarkin because his mother does not want to settle in one place. My favourite character is Magus Fin because he had to listen to the depressing story of his parents’ ageing. He did not run away from the problem. He coped with the pressure to rescue King Neptune. King Neptune survives and the false king is killed.i would recommend this book to anyone who wants a thrilling nerve wracking battle.

I really enjoyed reading this book as part of my school topic. It was all about a boy under the ocean.
