There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed the Sea
Pam Adams
Thirty years after the publication of the much-loved classic ‘There was an old lady who swallowed a fly’ comes ‘There was an old lady who swallowed the sea’; a fantastic prequel to the original title. Here the old lady swallows more and more creatures from the sea to try and catch the initial fish.
Reviews
I like the shark bit! The old lady swallowed a crab, a squid, a fish, a whale, a shark, a seal, and even the sea! I love the cut outs in the book.

It’s a nice rhyming book that I got when I was little.

It is a funny story with rhyming words. The pictures are good and I like the the cut outs of the animals and the words that go around the cut outs. You get out of breath the more you read.

This book was in a story sack at the Library and I really enjoyed using the doll and feeding her the items in turn as in the story.
