There's a gateway between the Shadow Woods and our world. There's monsters in the Shadow Woods who are trying to look for a key and a magic jewel, BUT, friends Sophie and Sam are looking for all 6 jewels and get the key off the monsters. Sophie has a twin brother called Anthony but they cannot tell him about the Shadow Woods as he would go in and get into lots of trouble. I love this book because there is a teacher called Miss Walker who everyone likes except for Sophie because she is one of the monsters and has put a spell on the children (except Sophie).

I enjoyed this book which was about swirling mist creatures who tried to capture the blue gem. It was good but it was a little bit scary.

They will learn adjectives like crooked , quiet ,shadowy ,hidden deep.It does have spooky things which are as spooky as the creepy house characters.I hope you will enjoy the book.
