Early Reader: Blood and Guts and Rats' Tail Pizza
Vivian French, Chris Fisher
Early Readers are stepping stones from picture books to reading books. A blue Early Reader is perfect for sharing and reading together. A red Early Reader is the next step on your reading journey.
Hank can’t work out where all his customers have gone. They usually queue for miles for a taste of his rats’ tail pizza and special guts pie with blood sauce. And when he finds them all at a newly opened cake shop, sitting at tables and sipping tea, he can’t believe it! He’s got to find a way to win his customers back. But how?

I love the book because of Nipper's interactions to his owners. I also liked when little Mo tipped the jug of buttercup custard on Hank's head. I'll rate it a 4 star

I liked the dogs in this book the best. I liked the sound of the cake

The book was very disgusting. I don’t want any of the cakes at the café.

This book is highly stereotypical. The boys hate the girls at first but later decide they like them - because girls can cook. And it turns out the boys can cook too - for dogs at least. If you are concerned with books being politically correct, this book will not be for you. But, if you're simply looking for a short funny story that younger children will enjoy listening to, and older children will want to read for themselves this is worth considering. It has plenty of laughs but it does have a lesson as well. It shows the importance of saying you are sorry and doing the right thing. It's a good thing even monsters can be gracious once an apology is offered, and even more shocking, girls can be good friends given the chance.

The story is about Hank trying to get his customer. His friend was going to a cake place instead of going to his friend Hanks restaurant. He partnered with the cake restaurant owner to open a successful place.

It was funny that the boys didn't like the girls and the girls didn't like the boys but the both liked dogs. In the end they worked out they both needed each other and became friends. I liked cruncher the dog

I liked it that the boys didn't like the girls and the girls didn't like the boys and then in the end they liked each other and helped each other and worked together

This is a really good book , my favourite so far on my reading challenge It’s a story of boys not being friends with girls and how they become friends and are happy ever after I liked Billy Big Bones best because he starts out grumpy but becomes kind I would recommend it, it’s a funny book.

I actually really liked this book because the two dogs were barking so much and arguing as well which I thought was funny. My favourite character was Big Billy. I will recommend it to someone else.

It was a book that had a green girl with a little dog and a boy with a big dog. They didn't really like each other.
