I thought that this book was spectacular. It turns out that Horice the parrot is actually a fire bird / Pheonix. He can grant wishes and turn into any bird he wants. He ends up being a pigmy owl as Pandora tried to kill him and he grated Lottie's wish. Lottie's dad has come back but he remembers nothing so Lottie tries to find a way of bringing his memories back. Pandora tries to get Lottie to be her apprentice but she says no and sticks with Ariadne. this book was really exciting and I cant wait to read Ponymagic to find out what happens next. I would absolutely recommend this book.

This was the best of my three Holly Webb books. I belong to the RSPB and loved reading about the different birds and their adventures.

If you like magic it's a good story for you and if you don't have time to read the next chapter it always leaves it on a real cliffhanger.

This book has an amazing phoenix at first the girl in the book thinks the phoenix is grumpy old parrot.
