The Pandas Who Promised: From The World of Rachel Bright & Jim Field
Rachel Bright, Jim Field
High on a misty mountainside, red panda cubs Popo and Ketu live happily with their mama. As the sisters grow, they promise Mama that they will always stay close to home. But while cautious Popo is content to spend her days in the family’s cosy treetop nest, bold Ketu dreams of excitement and exploration. So when Ketu creeps off down the mountain in search of adventure, Popo must make a choice: will she keep her promise to Mama, or look after her sister?
An action-packed, heart-warming tale of being true to your word and true to yourself, from the creators of the international bestseller The Lion Inside.

This was a very good book. The pandas didn’t listen to mummy and went down the mountain. They were nearly eaten by a leopard, I didn’t know what was going to happen!

My favourite characters were the two sisters, Popo and Ketu. They promised to always look out for each other and made another promise to not go far from their mother. The two sisters loved to explore and broke their promise to not go past the pine tree. They discovered a new place that they like because, there was lots of bamboo, they loved picking flowers and there was a hill that they rolled down, but they ran into a snow leopard. They had to swing a vine to save each other and get back to their mum and promised to never break a promise again. I would recommend this book because the message is to not make promises if you're going to break them.
