The fifteenth in a fantastic series of animal stories for younger readers by Waterstones Children’s Book Prize-shortlisted author Helen Peters. With beautiful black-and-white illustrations by Ellie Snowdon.

Jasmine’s dad is a farmer, and her mum is a vet, so Jasmine spends a lot of time caring for animals and keeping them out of trouble. Unfortunately, this often means she gets into hot water herself…

Jasmine is delighted to be nursing an injured hedgehog back to health until, on the afternoon of Bonfire Night, Snuffle escapes. As darkness falls and everyone prepares their bonfire celebrations, can Jasmine find Snuffle’s hiding place before the first match is lit?

Brilliant storytelling that will make you laugh and cry, this is Dick King-Smith for a new generation. Perfect for readers aged seven and up.

Check out Jasmine’s other adventures:

A Piglet Called Truffle

A Sheepdog Called Sky

A Kitten Called Holly

and many more!

Snuffle (the hedgehog on the cover of this incredible story) is the sweetest hedgehog ever!!! Jasmine and Tom (the main characters) find Snuffle in an old barn that is part of an abandoned farm. They take him to Jasmine's house to look after him and Jasmine's mum, Nadia, (who's a vet) helps them care for Snuffle once she's back from the clinic. But, on Bonfire Night, the little hoglet disappears, and Tom and Jasmine need to find him before everyone lights their bonfires, because they know hedgehogs love to hide in piles of leaves and sticks! Can they save him before it's too late? I love this story!! Helen and Ellie are a brilliant team!!!

This was the first book in this series that I read. I really enjoyed it. It's a longer story than Zoe's Rescue Zoo but still about rescuing animals, which I love. I can't wait to read more in the series.

I liked this book because it is a rescue story and because it is adventurous and gripping .It had a lot of tension when thye hedgehog was stuck in the bonfire and I would recommend it to a younger reader or my friend Eliza because she would proprably done the same thing as the girl(Jasmine). My favourite character was snuffle the hedgehog because he was very adventurous.

I liked that Tom and Jasmine got off the bus to go and save a hedgehog. It was sad that the first hedgehog they found was dead then they found another one that was living but only just. It looked unlikely that she was going to survive but she did

I like this series because it is all about animal rescues. Jazime and Tom main characters feel like your friends when you read the books. All the adventures make you think about how to care for animals, like making a hedghog highway.
