This is a fabulous book, the second in the His Dark Materials series which continues the story of Lyra Silvertongue as she tries to find Will's dad and searches for 'dust'. (If you read my previous review on The Golden Compass you will understand what 'dust' is) There are lots of unexpected twists and turns in this nail biting adventure. It has superb language though some children may find some of the old fashioned words and phrases a little hard to follow. It might be a good idea to read this on a tablet so you can look up any tricky words or phrases or read it with a parent or have a dictionary close at hand. I totally recommend this book to everyone who is into magical literature.
