This is a part novel, part graphic novel book about the son of a clock-maker who discovers a secret invention, which is a robot that can write.

This book is a combination of a written story and a picture book. The words that have been chosen for this book are all perfect and lovingly thought about. Also the pictures, which are so beautiful, give you a thousand inventive words at once even if you just take one glance. I really think this is a good book for any type of reader.

I loved this book because I enjoyed the beautiful illustrations and descriptive language. My favourite character was Isabelle as she shared my love and joy of books.

This book was all about Hugo Cabret and he lived inside the train station. He would go and check all the clocks and oil them before going and meeting a girl called Isabell. This was without the grumpy old man (who was actually Isabell's godfather.)there is a strange machine called an automata and he drew a strange picture. It was a picture from the film The Man On The Moon.At the end all is well and I would recommend it.I think I would prefer books with just words.
