Ben’s story takes place in 1977 and is told in words. Rose’s story in 1927 is told entirely in pictures. Ever since his mother died, Ben feels lost. At home with her father, Rose feels alone. When Ben finds a mysterious clue hidden in his mother’s room, both children risk everything to find what’s missing.

Absolutely fabulous. Two stories. One of a girl called rose in pictures and one of a boy called Ben in words at the end there is an unexpected twist.

It is a very unique book as one half of the story is told in black and white pictures it is a very interesting read with one character who feels secluded from the world and another who cant find who they are missing in it. This story tells of two people finding what they are missing in the the city of opportunities - New York. Enjoy!

This is a very interesting fantasy book. There are lovely illustrations and a great storyline. Fun for all ages, especially those who enjoyed Hugo Cabret (same author). Do not be put off by the size of it as half of it is an illustrated story!It is a magical book.
