Laura Marlin is surprised to find that she is able to go on a boat to the Caribbean with her friend Tariq and her dog Skye! Calvin Redfern has badly sprained both ankles and isn’t able to play around with the others. Laura also makes a new friend called Jimmy. Jimmy is very, very cheeky!

This is a fictional book about a girl who’s uncle is a detective and one day she buys a raffle ticket for one pound for a trip to the Caribbean, and wins! But things start going weird as soon as they board the ship and her uncle goes missing!…. This is a brilliant book and I would recommend it to a friend.

This book was about Laura, a girl originally from an orphanage, who supposedly wins tickets to a 2-week holiday in paradise. However, things are not as they seem. Laura and her best friend Tariq and Skye (her beloved pet husky) discover suspicious problems that start to pile up as they board the ship. Turns out that it was the Straight A gangsters trying to kidnap and kill her Detective Uncle -Clavin Redfern- for ruining all their plans and putting their highest ranking members to prison. They all manage to escape and capture them with the help of the police and a new special friend- Jimmy Gannet. I like this book because it left lots of intriguing questions in my mind that kept me reading on and it was exciting. I would recommend this book to ages above 8.
