I really liked some of the poems but I didn't like all of them. That's OK though because you can't expect to like everything. I didn't really have a favourite character because poems are too short to really get to know anybody. I like poems to read sometimes but this is not my favourite poetry book. It is good though.

The book had a variety poem mostly about animals. Some of the language was not what I’m used to like ‘aye’ sma’ Sma’ legs in the poem the strange visitor I enjoyed many poems. You are old father William was my favourite funny poem about a son trying question his dad how he was able to be strong despite his age. The morale of the story was it’s good to be active when you are young.

It was a lovely set of poems chosen by Carol Ann Duffy. I really enjoyed the poems by e.e. cummings because he never uses capital letters, and all the other poems were either funny or exciting!

Lots of funny and interesting poems. There are lots to choose from, something for everyone to like. I didn't understand every poem but they all made me think. My favourites were Stufferation, The Emergensea, The Lion and Albert, and Rat it Up.
