Benji McLaughlin is a visionary. He believes in things other people think are impossible, like that he and his brother Stanley will be happy living with their uncle, and that the Loch Lochy monster is real, and that his parents will come home safely one day.
So when he finds out that Uncle Hamish’s holiday business is struggling, Benji’s not worried. He has a visionary plan. Together with his new friends, Murdy and Mr Dog, he sets off to prove that the Loch Lochy monster exists, and bring tourists flooding in.But Benji might have to confront different monsters to the one he expects.

Benji’s a believer. He believes anything is possible - with a little help from God, the Lords, the Goddess and Spider-man! So, when he and his brother Stanley have to move to live with their Uncle Hamish, who runs a failing holiday business by the side of a Loch, Benji believes what he sees in the Loch will help save the failing family business. He has a plan, with the help of Stanley, Murdy and Mr Dog, Benji faces more than he anticipated. A funny, touching story of loss, friendship and family. Jenny Pearson’s brilliant writing shares Benji’s story in a beautiful and cleverly written joy of a book. You can’t help love the humorous antics of the characters and her descriptive storytelling - it makes the whole book totally relatable to the reader. With the final details of the story sharing Benji’s coping strategies for dealing with the loss of his parents, in a way the reader would not have imagined at the start of the book. This book has a big heart
