There’s a Beast in the Basement!
Pamela Butchart, Thomas Flintham, Elisabetta Barbazza (Head of Design (Fiction))
The thirteenth in a smash hit series of hilarious tales about primary school life from best-selling, award-winning creators! Packed with excellent black and white illustrations, this is the perfect longer read for newly confident readers. Nothing is quite as it seems for Izzy and her friends, and the drama is always off the scale! After overhearing their head teacher talking about ""missing treasure"" and ""running out of time"" which, of course, means there is treasure buried in the school that Mr Graves wants all for himself, Izzy and her friends resolve to find it first! Izzy and her friends head to the basement where Gary Petrie's dad is working and he's seen something SHINY! So they send Zach's cat down with a camera strapped to her head and study the footage carefully... It's not actually treasure in the basement, it's a BEAST with SHINING EYES and it's coming to get them! RUN!!! Have you read these brilliantly funny Izzy and friends adventures? It was amazing but there realy wasnt a beast in the basement it was just a cat but the thing i liked about the children in this book is that they all had different ideas and tried them all even though some of them did not link to the actual thing i still like all the ideas.(veey brave kids there).
Doctor Flossy Partridge 22.07.2024

I liked how they think that the situation is really complicated but it's actually something really obvious.
General Grip Hedgehog 01.07.2024

I quite like this series because you don't have to read them in order and the children think one thing but at the end it's something different yet it always makes sense
