September 1939. The world is on the brink of war. As his dad marches off to fight, Noah makes him a promise, to keep their beloved family dog safe.

When the government advises people to have their pets put down in readiness for the chaos of war, hundreds of thousands of people do as they are told. But not Noah. He’s not that sort of boy. With his two friends in tow, he goes on the run, to save his dog and as many animals as he can. No matter what.

The book was detailed and realistic and throughout the course of the tale it was clear the author had done much research on the topic. I especially enjoyed the part many chapters in which revealed the reasoning behind the choice by the author of the main character's name. I enjoyed the many friendly teasing and jokes that the characters shared. In conclusion I would recommend this book highly.

This book was rather sad since first the the animals escaped then the boat caught fire then the donkey died then the boy with the snake abandoned them then the sausage dog died and the boy didn't even find where he was looking for.

The book was ok because the characters' really dangerous thoughts ended up leading to nothing. While The Storm Rages is representing while the war carries on because it's set during world war two and they had to kill their animals so they don't suffer from illnesses.
