A Street Dog Named Pup
Gill Lewis
Between dog and human there is a special bond. A bond that must never be broken . . .
Pup and his boy are inseparable. But both their worlds change forever when Pup is cruelly taken away and abandoned.
With nowhere else to turn, Pup becomes a Street Dog – part of a misfit pack fighting for survival on the streets.
Pup clings to the hope of one day being reunited with his boy. But as time passes, his hope shrinks. Will he ever know love like his boy’s again?
Reviews
This book is fiction. My favourite character was Pup because I love animals and Pup was sensitive but also good fun. I would recommend this book to people who like (especially dogs) and can handle a little bit of sadness.

Irresistible, wonderful and lovely, also making me think differently about a dog’s life. I’ve read this book 6 times in total, from the school libraries and from the public. I’ve also read Lewis’s books before and they were all incredible stories of animals. I read Sky Hawk, Moon bear, Gorilla Dawn, One White dolphin and A story like the wind. I haven’t read The closest thing to flying yet it sounds like another really good book. Out of all her books, I liked a Street Dog named Pup the most.

This book was so engaging and I couldn’t put it down. However, there were also lots of sad bits.
