Megamonster
David Walliams, Tony Ross
The hilarious children’s book from No. 1 bestselling author David Walliams – a timeless adventure illustrated by artistic genius, Tony Ross.
On a volcanic island, in the middle of shark-infested waters, stands The Cruel School. The lessons are appalling, the school dinners are revolting and the teachers are terrifying – especially the mysterious Science teacher Doctor Doktur. When Larker is sent to the school, she quickly realises something very odd is going on… something involving Doctor Doktur, a pair of strange spectacles, and a ‘Monsterfication Machine’. And ultimately she finds herself face to face with a real life Megamonster. There seems to be no escape – but for Larker, nothing is impossible…Reviews

It’s strange how you only meet Mega Monster at the end of the story. I like the bogeyman’s head on the slug monster because it has antennae and it’s cute. It’s funny how worms is called worms because he always carries worms in his pocket. I like how worms is illustrated.

I have enjoyed reading it so much but it was a bit sad that her friends didn’t turn back to normal after they’d defeated the evil witch/ scientist.

The teacher (Doctor Doktur) didn’t feel she was enough so she fired her mother out the window and made her into a clockbot. She kept on falling apart so she hid her and turned everyone except woods (he was a pupil at that time and later became a gardener) into clockbots too. She then started turning people into monsters when they had detention -which was quite a lot. Then this girl called Larker saves the day.

Hi! I thought that this book wasn't very good because everything was very complicated and weird, I am not that sort of person that likes weird things. But this book was good, and very interesting at the end! Bye
