Another book written by the adventurous thoughts of Michelle Harrison. Fliss the lovebird, Betty the most adventurous child around, and last but not least Charlie, the muddiest and grossest kid in the whole of Wilderness! The Widdershins sisters are back on, but his time with a ghost on their hands. But will the girls bring justice or another haunting? Both!

This book was a fiction book, and yet it was so lifelike I felt like it wasn't even a story. It's in a series, and this the 4th book, and it was extremely good. Three sisters, Fliss, Betty and Charlie Widdershins live a peaceful life in a sweet cottage with Father and Granny after all of their adventures. When distant-relative Clarissa breaks her ankle and Granny and the three sisters are called to help, they journey to Wilderness, a forever-snow-covered village of forests and lakes and a jolly little winter market. But even the jolliest places can have a terrifying backstory and the Widdershins girls are forced to stay in Echo Hall, where they are lost to a world of crystal balls, dead highwaymen, ghosts of a girl called Elora Goode, evil couples and crashing through frozen lakes. But things aren't always what they seem, and when the girls are placed under what may be a curse, they have to work out things before it's too late. But things may have a little twist before we can wrap the story up... Anyone who loves a sense of adventure and mystery, along with a bit of fantasy, this book's for you. However, I recommend reading the others first.

At first, I found this book fairly hard to get into. But, as with the other books in the series, I soon was unable to stop reading. Michelle Harrison never fails to impress.

I really loved this because on every page there was a new twist and turn to it. I liked the character Betty because she was willing to solve the mystery no matter how hard it got. I liked the bit where Mrs Chambers revealed herself to be the Highway Woman instead of the Highway Man. I would recommend it for children 9+ because it gets quite scary at the end.
