Shadowghast
Thomas Taylor, Thomas Taylor
A creepy magician with a shadowy act. A legend that goes back to the dawn of time. Eerie-on-Sea just got stranger. And darker…
A mysterious stage magician has set up in the theatre at the end of the pier, with an act so hypnotic and strange that Herbie Lemon and his friend Violet Parma suspect dark forces are at work. Meanwhile, folk are disappearing from Eerie-on-Sea, and no one knows why. There is an Eerie legend that goes back to the dawn of time, about a creature made of darkness that devours the shadows of the living. But could the Shadowghast really have returned?

I read Malamander, Gargantis, Festergrimm and Mermedusa but this one is the best! I just love how there is a twist in every chapter and it makes you read the next book to find out more!!

I like this book because it was funny and I like the idea of the shadowghast. I liked how the shadowghast can steal peoples shadow. I wasn't expecting the return of eels from the last few books.

I like the characters Violet Parma and Herbert Lemon and the adventures they had on Ghastly Night. I felt it very spooky when the Shadowghast returned and captured all of the shadows of innocent people and Sebastian Eels was in disguise of someone called Rictus. Sebastian Eels was the real Puppet Master!

When Ghastly Night arrives in Eerie-On-Sea, Herbie expects this to be a festival of extra flapjacks, extra lost things and talk of ghosts. But when the legendary Shadowghast Lantern is brought to the theatre things take an Eerie turn. A strange magician lays a claim that she is Herbie's aunt. Is someone trying to split Violet and Herbie apart?Who is behind all this? The answer lay in the claws of the Shadowghast... An amazing book! One of my favourites! A book I love.

Shadowghast is a shadow who haunts people when entering the theatre at the end of the pier. Herbet Lemon and Violet Parlmer (the main characters) finds out who's is the shadow. My favourite part of the story, is when the lantern of the shadow is destroyed and the waves of the sea is fierce. My least favourite part is when the Sebastian Eels capture Violet Parlmerand take her into their base.

The reason I liked this book is because at the beginning of the story there is this mysterious person who goes up to Lady Kraken's office and then Lady Kraken asks the main character (who is called Herbert Lemon but people call him Herbie) to come up to the office too. Then the mysterious person (who says her stage name is Caliastra) says something to Herbert Lemon which is very unexpected. Later on in the book Herbert keeps talking to her because of what she told him in the office and his friend (who is called Violet Parma) gets annoyed with him and they fall out for a bit. Violet Parma's guardian goes missing and that makes Violet very cross. Somebody else goes missing as well. I like the part at the end because it is very exciting when they are on the stage. I like it when Herbert Lemon works something out and then there is the thing again where something is revealed and then they go onto the next chapter. My favourite character is Erwin the cat (who is the cat of the owner of the Eerie Book Dispensary who is Violet's guardian). I like the cat because he has different mood swings, because sometimes he gets cross with Violet and Herbie but then other times he tries to help them.
