This book is a bit of thriller, action and adventure story. The main character, Charlie, was weak at the start but by the end he is really strong and brave.

I like how Cadno the fox can make fire. The Grendilock is a little scary, once it tried to eat Cadno!

Fiction, This is a book about teaching yourself self-confidence. Charlie Challinor tries to balance bullies at school and life with his adoption dad's whilst taking into care a Firefox called Cadno - the last of it's kind - , but it's not that easy when you have a sinister hunter from another world hot on your trail... I would say the message of this book is "you need to be able to be brave for yourself before you can be brave for others" - I recommend this book to people who love adventure, monsters and animals

I really liked when they buried the Grendilock under the flaming hay bales because it helped in the final battle. My favourite character was Cadno because the book described him as ‘soft’, ‘chubby’ and ‘warm’. I would recommend it to someone who loves animals and adventure.

I really enjoyed the book and I like how Charlie finds his iner fire. At the end he stands up to bullies at school. My favourite character is the Firefox who is called Cadno. I like that Charlie was brave enough to defeat the Grendilock, well destroys the Grendilock and he is very lucky because he has got his dads, Cadno, And Lippy and Roo, they are his best friends. I rate the book 5/5 it was very good!!

I enjoyed this book, it was a little scary in parts but everything turned out good in the end. My favourite part was when Charlie threw a rock at something called a Grendilock’s head. I really liked Cadno the Firefox. This book was recommended to me by my school reading list for year 3 & 4 I would recommend it to my friends and people of my age group
