I liked the bit where Mina saw a woman make a crane and a paper boat on the bus and I’m going to try to make an origami crane myself.

This book was all about a girl called Mina who has just moved to Tokyo in Japan. A lady gives her an origami bird and boat whilst on a bus and then she makes friends with a boy who found it on the lake. I didn’t like this book and wouldn’t recommend it.

I think this book is quite cool how the lady in the book gave a paper boat and a paper bird to the little girl and then she put it in a lake to float away and then somehow it ended up back with her.

This was a really easy book to read but also really beautiful. I liked the simplicity of it and how the two characters met. It was a short story but it was very wholesome and I liked the drawings!
