Can one hare alone change the world? The captivating animal adventure destined to be loved by readers of all ages. A stunning paperback edition from the bestselling, much-loved author, Piers Torday.

One stormy, snowy night, a pure silver calf is born on an ordinary muddy farm by the light of the moon. This is the legendary Mooncalf, whose arrival has been foretold since the dawn of time.

According to a dream passed down from animal to animal, if the calf dies, a great terribleness will come – rising seas, a plague, skies raining down fire, the end of all things… and Little Hare vows to persuade all the animals to protect Mooncalf, whatever the cost.

But it’s easier said than done, and soon Little Hare realises that he is the only one who can save the world…

A stunning prequel to the award-winning, bestselling The Last Wild trilogy, touching on timely themes of climate change, friendship, and above all, hope.

I really liked this book because there were so many twists and turns and was something I could never make up by my self, I just loved it, I would recommend it to people who like adventure stories.

My favourite character was the rabbit because he was so brave and adventurous. My least favourite bit was when the mud slide happened because the animals got hurt. My favourite bit was when the rabbit faced up to the wolves.I was puzzled when the white cow died because usually stories say the main characters survive. I noticed that there was always a different type of destruction every time. This book was full of adventure and kindness and I recommend it to people who like unpredictable and adventurous stories.

I read The Last Wild for school, so I wanted to read this when I saw it in my local library. It ties up loose ends from the first book, and builds the world further than what we got in TLW. Highly recommended!

I found this book quite boring, so I have not actually finished it, so I am leaving it back to the library but I might come back to it and finish in a while.

Piers Today is one of my favourite authors and when I saw this book in waterstones, I knew that I just had to buy it. This is either the first or last book of his 'wile' series but takes place before everything has happened. I loved little-hare because his courage never failed him. Anyone who loves animals, cliff hangers or surprises should definitely read this book.

This was a book about a bunny that took care of a moon calf.

You mainly need to be an animal lover to properly enjoy this book. It links very well to the other 3 books.
