Lighting Falls is a fantastical story of ghosts and friendship from Amy Wilson, ‘the rising star of children’s fantasy’.

Valerie has been living at Lightning Falls nearly all her life. She’s perfectly happy helping Meg and the rest of the family to haunt the guests who come to stay there at the crumbling Ghost House. One night, she sees a strange boy, Joe, up on the viaduct. There she discovers that beneath the river is a bridge – one that will take her to the world of Orbis, which Joe claims is her real home.

A world that is under threat. Plunged into a dangerous adventure, as the link between the two worlds begins to crumble, Valerie is forced to confront the truth about herself . . .

I like this book because it has someone (Lord Rory) undercover and not really who you think they are. I liked Meg the best because she always wanted to go on and adventure and she always wanted to figure things out. She was also very helpful to Valerie when Valerie needed help. I would re

This book had magic on every page waiting for you to discover so was a real page turner as I wanted to know what happened next but at the same time I didn't want the story to finish. It was all about ghosts and how a special bridge separated them from the human world. The main character who Meg who didn't know if she was a ghost or a human but lived with her ghost family in their haunted hotel. I would definitely recommend this book for children 8+
