Perfect for fans of Mr Gum and The Animals of Farthing Wood, this hilarious, irreverent series from picture book superstar Nadia Shireen follows two urban foxes who escape to the wonderfully weird forest of Grimwood!

After a run-in with the scariest street cat in the Big City, fox cub siblings Ted and Nancy flee for Grimwood, expecting to find refuge in the peaceful countryside. Instead, they are met with thieving eagles, dramatic ducks, riotous rabbits and an absurd game called Treebonk! While Ted quickly falls in love with his wacky new neighbours, Nancy thinks they’re all bonkers. But she soon discovers that, as kooky they are, the animals of Grimwood always look out for each other. Now Nancy must ask herself an important question: yes, Grimwood may be weird, but could it also be . . . home? Grimwood marks Nadia Shireen’s first foray into young fiction. She is the award-winning author-illustrator of Good Little Wolf (Jonathan Cape), and the illustrator of the hotly anticipated Slug in Love (Simon & Schuster). PRAISE FOR NADIA SHIREEN: ‘Shireen’s latest book confirms her as one of the brightest and best picture book creators working in Britain today… Sensational.’ – The Observer

My favourite character is Ted and Nansey. They’re both foxes, and I like Ted when he bit off an evil guys tail. And I like Nansey when she fell into a pond.

My favourite character was Ted. The thing that first interested me about the book was the front cover. I didn't give it five stars because I thought it could be more dramatic like Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, my favourite book. I would recommend it to somebody who likes evil cats and funny foxes.

I liked Ted and Nancy (who are foxes) and I also liked Princes Buttons who is a cat,Titus who is a mouse and Pamela who is an eagle. It is a fiction book and I realy liked it.There is someone caled Eric B. Dinamite who pops up and shairs his thoughts and sometimes they are realy funny. It's not a fictional book and I would recommend it to someone else.

I really enjoyed this book because it was very funny and made me laugh a lot. My favourite character was Ted because he was brave and always tried to do the right thing, even when things went wrong. There were lots of silly adventures and funny moments that kept me interested. I would definitely recommend this book to other children because it is exciting, hilarious and hard to put down.

Interesting, about foxes who leave a town because of a cat.

The jokes are truly "laugh-out-loud" for both kids and adults. From the nonsensical game of "Treebonk" to the quirky illustrations of bugs, the humor is unpredictable and sharp. Beneath the mayhem, there are surprisingly poignant themes of seeking home, sibling loyalty, and finding where you belong. I loved the whimsical feeling that this book gave me and, Nadia Shireen, you did sooo well. In fact I have every book in the series. 6/5 stars.
