From million-copy bestselling author David Baddiel comes a laugh-out-loud and inspiring new adventure for all readers of 8 and up that is ahead of its time – 1,001 years ahead, to be precise…

The year is 3020. Pip@256X#YY.3_7 is lonely and bored: she goes to virtual school on her G-Glasses, she only has a talking cat and parrot to hang out with, and she can’t even leave her LivingSpace due to the extreme heat and floods outside. Until the day that Pip explores a glowing ring in a lab and finds herself in a warehouse, in 2019. Where she meets boy-inventor Rahul – who is also lonely and bored. Together, Rahul and Pip are no longer lonely. But they have a whole load of new problems, including hiding talking animals from Rahul’s parents, and finding a way back to the future. Plus – just maybe – saving the world… Future Friend is a terrifically entertaining time-slip adventure that combines action, laugh-out-loud humour and the importance of friendship, in a story that asks the question – what would happen if your best friend came from the future?

This book was about a boy named Rahul, a great inventor, who was all alone in 2019. Meanwhile, a boy named Pip was also alone, but 1001 years later, in 3020! My favourite character was Rahul because everyone didn't believe him at school that Pip was real, instead, Pip mind-controlled Pip 2 and at the end, everyone was shocked. I would recommend this book to people who would like to have friends or learn about the future.

This book is about a young girl called Pip, who lives in 3020, and is very lonely, as she cannot go outside and play, go to school or fix her roboclone and is very bored at home. Her parents are very clever inventors and they both are working on a portal, which Pip decides to test…. And she goes to 2019. In 2019, Rahul is lonely and doesn’t have much to do, as he has forgotten how to invent things until Pip comes through the portal. Can they get her home before the portal closes?? My favourite character in this book is Dag the parrot, who can talk, but in 2019, he is only allowed to say PRETTY POLLY, but on the inside, he is clearly very knowledgeable about the future. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci fi as it is all about the theory of Pip being an alien. Three words to describe the story are dramatic, exciting and fun.

This book is about a girl way back in the future whose mum and dad are trying to make the planet better. The sky is red and when it's not (literally) boiling outside it’s SO chucking it down that you might die if you go out. The girl has a robot-clone of herself who helps do all the jobs since her mum and dad are very busy. Once, tons of smoke blew in the house and the girl was lost… but then she found a portal and teleports herself way back in the 2019’s.

Future friend is a very entertaining book, especially the ending. Reading this book has made me want to read more from David Baddiel. At times this book has made me laugh and imagine myself living in the future.

It was really interesting because someone from the future went back in time and because it gave you David Baddiel's thought about the future.

An exciting Baddiel adventure that is 1001 years ahead of its time. 2019 Rahul is a genius inventor but he has one big flaw: he's lonely. 3020 Pip is lonely too and can't leave her space where she lives due to the the hot heat outside. Until a day where she finds a glowing ring in her parents lab which brings her to 2019. Together, Pip and Rahul are no longer but they have problems including saving the world... Can they save the world?
