The main characters are Lucy and Kitty but my favourite is Lucy because she tries new thing to her and is a good person. I liked this book because it was exciting to read as it was great.l would recommend The Runaway Girls to somebody who likes adventurous stories.

Lucy Locket lives with her father, the New Mother and the New Baby. They sent away her beloved Nurse and replaced her with a horrid governess. She has always lived on the street and on her wits, with only the kind Gaffer to help her. But now Gaffer is gone, and Kitty is all alone. When Lucy runs away from home, Kitty shows Lucy how to survive - where to find the best picnic leftovers in the park, and which trees makes the best beds. Lucy learns quickly and shows Kitty her own skills - befriending families to get free meals and singing beautiful melodies for the crowds.

This was a fictional story. My favourite character was Kitty. This story was all about 2 girls running away from their parents and their home. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a bit of drama.

I liked the character Lucy the best because she was kind and helpful while they were running away.I liked that they made money by dancing and singing.

This book is brilliant and I really love it. My favourite charactor is Lucy Alice May Browning. Even that her own dad did not recognise her , she still did not give up. And I also like her best friend Kitty too. She was brave and live on the street on her own before she met Lucy. I would recommend this book to my freinds.

I found this book really really nice and enjoyable to read. My favourite character was Lucy because she was always so kind to Kitty even though Kitty was sometimes mean to her. What happens is there is a girl named Lucy in the Victorian period and she has a Nurse who she really likes. But then her Nurse goes away and she gets a governess called Miss Groan. One day, she gets bored and runs away. She meets a street girl called Kitty and they learn to love each other like sisters even though there are lots and lots of tough obstacles that they need to dodge through. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I hope everyone else enjoyed this book as much as I did.

My favourite character is Lucy because even though she changed from rich to poor so quickly and didn’t feel like she fit in she still never gave up and was brave. It was fiction and non fiction because it was set in London, it was in Victorian times the great exhibition was featured in it that makes it non fiction. But the characters and gist of the story are not real so that makes it fiction. It interested me because I learnt about real events like the great exhibition and the main characters never gave up and were brave. I would recommend it to someone who is 9 to 12 because younger people won’t understand it but older people might think it is boring. Also it is really inspiring because the characters never give up to have their dream come true and the are very brave so they are good role models.
