""Sometimes you are a whisper away from magic without even realizing it.""

Nine is an orphan pickpocket determined to escape her life in the Nest of a Thousand Treasures. When she steals a house-shaped ornament from a mysterious woman’s purse, she knocks on its tiny door and watches it grow into a huge, higgledy-piggeldy house. Inside she finds a host of magical and brilliantly funny characters, including Flabberghast – a young wizard who’s particularly competitive at hopscotch – and a hideous troll housekeeper who’s emotionally attached to his feather duster. They have been placed under an extraordinary spell, which they are desperate for Nine to break – and if she can, maybe they can offer her a new life in return…

""A Diana Wynne Jones-ish adventure fizzing with imagination. Such fun – I loved it!"" – Sinead O’Hart
""A wonder-filled book that revels in magic and mayhem."" – Abi Elphinstone
""This funny tale has a cast of lovable characters and plenty of twists and turns… A hugely imaginative adventure."" – The Week Junior

I would definitely recommend it to others. It was magical, adventurous and one of the best book experiences ever. This book was about a girl called Nine leaving her adoptive carer who forced her to pickpocket if she wanted to be taken care of, and even though she did a bad deed Nine did it for the reason to have a home. This was a very enjoyable book and in my opinion, these types of books are probably the best genre ever.

I really enjoyed this book because it was fiction and it was about a thief called nine who got stuck in a tiny house with a spoon wearing a Scottish skirt and a wizard plus a mythical creature that looks like a bull But Probably isn’t. I also enjoyed this book because it’s really funny when they get stuck in different places And loads of different things happen with the house.

Nine reminds me of Zhen from Kungfu Panda 4, same humble beginning and upbringing.

This is my new favourite book. It is magical and has a mysterious story to it as-well! I like fantasy and magic books and this was one of my favourites. Not only did the characters break a curse, she also got something for herself. She could be free from the horrible life that she had lived until then. I Loved it and I highly recommend this book!
