It’s about this girl, called Sophie. She was on the Queen Mary as a baby, and when the boat was sinking she was rescued by someone called Charles. They had a life together and he was like a father, but Sophie still hoped her mum was alive. This lady didn’t want that to happen, and didn’t think she was living a good life, so she questioned them about some stuff, but they didn’t pass the “test” - Sophie got her cello and they went to France. The story ahead is a story about a brave little girl.

this book was fiction and my favourite character was Sophie because she tried hard and she never ignored a possible. this book was quite factual and it interested me to know how people live on the rooftops of Paris. I would recommend this to someone who enjoys adventure and fun!

This book was amazing! I really enjoy Katherine Rundell's style of writing! I loved it when Charles surprised the rooftoppers by sitting there next to them! This is a great book! I would read it again and again!

I really enjoyed this book. It was recommended by a teacher at school. My favourite character is Sophie as she shows resilience and determination throughout. I enjoy reading books that are for children and young people, as I can then recommend them to the class I work with.

I really enjoyed reading rooftoppers because it was exciting and it made sense. Matteo was my favourite character because he really showed his survival skills.I also liked how he jumped from one rooftop to another and that he was always very calm. It wasn't that factual and it was fiction but I definitely recommend it to other people

I loved this book. A young, inquisitive child tries to find her long-lost mother based on a cello cases and her thoughts. Using her memories, she searches for her in a unique form, by roofs. With Charles, her foster father, and her new friends, she goes through a long, troublesome journey above Paris.

This book was really good it included lots of exciting adventures and nail biting moments. My favourite characters were Charles and Vivienne even though Vivienne only appeared until the end it felt like I knew her the whole time. I would recommend this book to any adventurous readers.

For some reason, this book made me cry. They way Sophie would do anything to find her mother even if she doesnt know her well is proof that nothing beats family. The connection Sophie and Matteo have made in such a short period of time shows the power of love and friendship. I love you Katherine Rundell

I absolutely loved this book! I loved how even the quiet tree-dweller Safi isn't a main character, she becomes a brave fighter when it matters most. I love the motto that Sofie and Charles have which is never ignore a possible as it is something we should all live by to stay optimistic when times are tough. i would totally recommend this book to anyone especially someone who loves adventure and just an all-round good read. Brilliant!
