From multi-award-winning author Sally Nicholls, A Chase In Time is the first in a brilliant time-slip adventure series for 7+ readers, beautifully illustrated inside by Rachael Dean, with cover illustrations by Isabelle Follath.

The old gilt-edged mirror has hung in Alex’s aunt’s house for as long as he can remember. Alex hardly notices it, until the day he and his sister are pulled through the mirror, back into 1912. It’s the same house, but a very different place to live, and the people they meet need their help.

Soon they’re caught up in car chases and treasure hunts as they race to find a priceless golden cup – but will they ever be able to return to their own time?

A fast-paced adventure full of car chases, arson and cake!

‘A clever vehicle for introducing the differences between then and now in an accessible way, with a fast-paced plot and a lovely spooky ending’ – The Times on A Chase in Time

Have you read Alex and Ruby’s other adventures: A Christmas in Time, An Escape in Time and A Secret in Time?

A chase in time is a book about 2 siblings, 12 year old Ruby and 10 year old Alex. While spending the summer holidays at Applecot House, their aunt’s big luxurious house that’s been in the family for generations, they come across a mirror. But not just any old mirror, a magic mirror that lets you time travel! As the children touch the mirror’s glass they are teleported over 100 years into the past! They meet their ancestors and help their uncle Atherton rescue an incredibly expensive cup, the Newbury cup, which would’ve otherwise been stolen! Along the way they have a lot of fun too. Once they return back to the present they are able to sell the cup so that their aunt is no longer struggling financially and does not need to sell Applecot house any more! This book was soo much fun to read! I would recommend it to anyone 7+ who likes time travel and adventure books! The book has 195 pages and took me 2 days to read! ~ Happy time travel! ~
