This is a great book for people who like spooky stories it is a fictional book all about a girl who likes reading ghost stories (Aveline).

I really was keen to read this book as myself i love reading horror books so i decided to give the book a try. When i read the whole book, it was pretty nice but the only thing the author could have is a bit more to the plots to make it slightly more interesting but overall it was fine.

It really creeped me out which is the best thing about ghosts stories! I am glad I don’t live near the sea so that the ghost of Cora Poole wouldn’t be able to stalk me! I liked Primrose and felt empathy for her because of the fate she suffered. Aveline is a great detective and I have already asked the library for the next one, the bewitching of Aveline Jones.

It was very creepy and scary. My favorite character was Aveline or her aunt. It interested me because when I started reading it I couldn’t put it down and you didn’t see anything coming. I would recommend it to older children because I’m 9 and parts of it scared me. Thankyou for reading this

I borrowed this book from my school library, I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. This book is another thriller and once you find out what the “scarecrows” are, you will be spooked. This is a MUST HAVE!! On my bookshelf!

I can definitely rate this book more than 110 stars if I could but this spine-tingling tale sends shivers down my spines. Aveline discovers a supernatural book which was owned by a girl named Primrose Penberthy but one story might have really seemed to haunt Primrose and she soon goes missing. Will Aveline and her new bookshop friends find out the mystery behind the tale and Primrose? "I'll be sleeping with the lights on tonight!" You can find out more of Aveline's mysteries in the second book in the series!!!!!

I loved this book because I love mystery story’s because thus one makes you wonder and you always stop on a good part like a twist. I liked aveline jones because she’s like me brave and likes to read. I world definitely recommend this book because it’s mysterious and it would be good for people who like mystery books.
