The Strangeworlds Travel Agency: The Edge of the Ocean: Book 2
L.D. Lapinski
Pack your suitcase for a magical adventure!
At the Strangeworlds Travel Agency, each suitcase transports you to a different world. All you have to do is step inside…
Flick is now a badge-wearing member of The Strangeworlds Travel Agency so when an urgent summons arrives at Strangeworlds from Pirate Queen Nyfe, she and Strangeworlds Society guardian Jonathan immediately pack their bags for an adventure to Queen Nyfe’s world: The Break, a place of magic and piracy.
Nyfe’s world is falling apart. The Break is used to having ships vanish without a trace, but there has been a sudden increase that can’t be explained by giant squid or mer-people. The edge of their flat world is coming ever closer to them and they need to escape before it collapses entirely.
But how do you sail a ship through a suitcase? How do you fit a mer-queen the size of a whale into something small enough to carry in your hand? Will Flick and Jonathan be able to find a way to transport the inhabitants of the Break to another world before theirs disappears forever?
A magical adventure for 9+ readers that will take you to whole new worlds, perfect for fans of The Train to Impossible Places and Pages & Co.
Reviews

I loved this book because it was so thrilling and exciting! My favourite part was at the end when flick made the schism bigger and saved the pirates. I am very excited about book 3 because I am really interested to find out who the man with the gun and suitcase was in book 1 and where Johnathon's dad is. I can't wait until Flick tells her dad about what she found out about him (wait until the end!) !

If you have read (and enjoyed) the first book, you will love this! An exciting and interesting story to open up and adventure with. Loads of plans and secrets, a lot of questions that need answers, Flick and her abilities trying to save another world, and a tonne of magic and bravery. Recommended to girls and boys 7+.

A very marvellous book. Flick is a real hero. I was so sorry at first to see Daniel Mercator dead but it gets more exciting in the next book. Read the next book to find out!

I thought that this book was really good, I rate it 5/5. I thought it was a really emotional, adventurous book that was really fun to read! My favourite person was Flick because she was under so much pressure to support the break (litrally)!! I also did like Avery because she was kind and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend!!

I would recommend these books to anyone of all ages. It is a brilliant book though I did find - unlike the other one - the begging was a bit slow and hard to get into. However on the contrary, I thought the book was lighthearted, funny and magical. Flick is a 12 year old girl that is part of Strangeworlds, a magical travel agency, run by an 18 year old. It uses the transportation of suitcases to open portals into other fascinating lands. Flick, Johnathan and Avery have to help the people, mer-people and Pirates of The Land of The Break escape from the shrinking world. Makes you really appreciate our own world and contains the biggest twist at the end which really puts you on the edge of your seat.
